Father, we know that you Created everything and that you are over everything. Show us that you are truly the one who has the power in this world and the next. May your Kingdom, may your will be done. Amen.
Check out Luke 4:31-37 and Luke 8:26-39
- How would you have reacted if you were in the crowd when Jesus did this?
- How does this fulfill Jesus' mission from yesterday, at least partially?
- Do you know anyone that is in to magic or witchcraft and demons?
- Is Jesus more powerful than demons? How do you know?
- If Jesus is more powerful than demons, why do you think so many people are fascinated/afraid of ghosts, demons, and witchcraft?
- What do you think Jesus wants to see happen to the dark places in Huntington?
- Is it hard to believe that demons really exist? Why do you think it's hard to believe they exist?
Peace,
Richard

1) I would have been shocked and surprised. I wouldn't know what to do or think.
2) This fulfills his mission because he was helping to heal someone and take away the bad in them.
3) I probably do know someone but I am not sure.
4) Yes Jesus is more powerful.
5) I know he is because he could get the demons to come out of people and when they did they were frightened.
6) I think so many people are afraid of them because they do bad things to people and objects. Also because there are bad stories about witches, demons, and ghost that scare people.
7) I think Jesus wants to see them changed from dark through his word and people being neighborally to them.
8) I think it is hard because of all the stories and myths about them make is hard to beliveve that they exist.
Jessica :)
It is definitely hard to believe in spirits and demons for Americans. We live in a culture that says- "show me." and prove it scientifically. My time in Haiti and overseas opened my eyes to the spiritual warfare around us.
1. I think I would have been really scared and would have bad dreams.
2. It lets him achieve the part that says for him to announce freedom for prisoners. In this case, it would be prisoners of evil spirits.
3. I don't think so...
4. He is with no doubt more powerful than demons. I know this because he had command over the demons, I mean, he told them to get out of people and they did!
5. I think people can be fascinated with evil because they must just get a good feeling when they rebel. I think some are afraid of it because evil is evil and no matter if it happens or not it is just bad.
6. He wants himself to be let in to the lives of the people in the dark places of Huntington. Once all of those dark places are filled, Huntington will never be the same. It will be even better than it already is.
7. I think it is hard to believe because they don't show up all the time in people and it just makes me wonder about it.
