But first! Take a couple minutes just to thank your daddy in heaven for 3 amazing things in your life. Ask him to teach you and tell how much you want to be his student...
Check out Matthew 22:34-40.
- What is the question the Pharisees ask Jesus?
- How does Jesus reply?
- Jesus doesn't create a new commandment, he quotes two that would be well known to the Pharisess. Check out Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18. Who is your neighbor in Leviticus 19:18? Would it be anyone or would it be a fellow Israelite/Jew?
- Why do you think Jesus links these two commandments together?
- Check out Luke 10:25-37. This is where Jesus expounds on his concept of neighbor. How does he define neighbor?
- Take a moment to list out some of the things that stand out from Luke 10:22-37 (the Parable of the Good Samaritan).
Thank the Living God for his teaching that is easy and lifegiving. Ask him to give you eyes to see your neighbor in need and the ability to serve them and love them as an act of love and service to Him.

1) The Pharisees ask Jesus "what is the grestest commandment in law?"
2) "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbors as yourself. All the Law and Phrophets hang on these two commandments." Jesus said. He gives them some but he just says that they are all important.
3) Your neighbor is your people.
4) I think he links them together because they both talk about loving someone.
5) He defines a neighbor as someone who has mercy for another or a person who helps another.
6) The same concept of 'Love the Lord your God and your neighbor.

1. The question the Pharisees asked Jesus was "Teacher, what is the most important commandment in the law?"
2. Jesus replied that the first commandment (love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind) was the most important. Then he said that the second most important one was to love others as much as you love yourself.
3. According to that verse, your neighbor would be anyone.
4. I think that he linked them together because all of the law of Moses and the books of the prophets were based on those two commandments. He even said that in the Matthew verses.
5. He defines neighbor as the one who showed pity to the beaten up man. So neighbors to him are the people who care about you?
6. -Why olive oil and wine in verse 34?
-verse 37 stood out because I thought that Jesus always said that everyone was your neighbor.
-Even though I know the parable, it still surprises me that the religious people did not stop to even have time to care about the man.
